¿Qué es Life TRIPLET?
El Programa LIFE es el instrumento de financiación de la UE en los ámbitos del medio ambiente y la acción por el clima. Funciona desde 1992 y ha cofinanciado más de 5.500 proyectos en toda la UE y en terceros países. La financiación del programa LIFE para el período 2021-2027 asciende a 5.400 millones de euros. LIFE cuenta con cuatro nuevos subprogramas: naturaleza y biodiversidad, economía circular y calidad de vida, mitigación de los efectos del cambio climático y adaptación al mismo, y transición hacia una energía limpia. Los proyectos aprobados hoy y los cuatro subprogramas empezarán a recibir financiación a partir de 2022.
Objetivos
La implementación de una herramienta digital para monitorizar el manejo sostenible de la aplicación de agua y nutrientes, el desarrollo del cultivo y la sanidad vegetal, mediante la extrapolación de indicadores del estado hídrico de suelo y planta obtenidos en parcelas demostrativas a una mayor escala, como la superficie de comunidades de regantes, a través de índices multiespectrales calculados a partir de datos obtenidos por drones y satélites.

- Agua aplicada: ‒22% m3/año
- Nitrógeno aplicado: ‒7% kg / año
- Emisión de G.E.I.: ‒34% t CO2 eq. /año
¿Quién forma parte del proyecto?
La coordinadora del proyecto es la Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena.
Los miembros del consorcio que realiza el proyecto son: Agbar, Cetaqua, FMC, Azud, Aquatec, Mancha Occidental II, Fenacore y el Imida.

- 293 ha de parcelas demostrativas.
- 208.517 ha de superficie extrapolable.
Digitalización de la agricultura
El proyecto tiene como base la digitalización de los procesos en la toma de decisiones para asegurar la sostenibilidad de la actividad agrícola, reduciendo el agua aplicada, uso del nitrógeno y emisión de gases efecto invernadero.
CUAS Mancha Occidental & Life TRIPLET
The Community of Underground Water Users (CUAS) of Western Mancha is one of the communities of irrigators that are part of the European Life TRIPLET program, hosting several demonstration plots of crops in the area of La Mancha: vineyards, pistachios and horticultural crops.
In an area with special problems in water supplies, the objective of Mancha Occidental II with this project is to contribute to the promotion of efficiency in irrigation, transmitting data and knowledge acquired with Life TRIPLET to its groundwater users, nearly 10,000 in a territorial area of about 100,000 hectares.
And at CUAS Mancha Occidental we are convinced that new technologies, knowledge of the environment and the collection and analysis of data are essential to achieve maximum efficiency in Spanish irrigation.
